Good Will Toward Men

As we stand around the manger, the wonderful angelic hymn still resounds in our ears. “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” This angelic hymn reveals the special purpose of God. He has bestowed grace on us! God sent us the first Christmas present. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). The incarnation of Christ was and is the most obvious proof of God’s love for sinful man. Our minds cannot comprehend God’s love for us.

Christ who created heaven and earth came to live among us. Christ, who eternally wore a crown of glory, voluntarily exchanged it for the crown of thorns. In trying to comprehend how much glory Christ left for us, how can we not let our hearts overflow with hymns of praise for the infinite love and sacrifice of God?

Christ became man to obey the law of God which we transgressed. Thus living a perfect life and dying for our sins, He completely abolished death.

My question to every reader is this: Has this “good will toward men” become part of your own testimony? Is this angelic hymn a living spiritual reality in your experience? Or is it for you, as for many, a beautiful hymn, but empty of content? May God help you to accept this gift as well. Only then will you be happy. Do not reject this great gift that God offers to you.
